Press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia on the planting of the South Ossetian-Syrian Friendship Lane

May 29 marks the third anniversary of the recognition of the state independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Syrian Arab Republic.

On May 29, 2018, the day when the Republic of South Ossetia celebrates one of its most important holidays - the Day of the Declaration of the Act of Independence - the South Ossetian people received a truly invaluable gift: the recognition of the sovereignty and independence of their country by the Syrian Arab Republic. This event was greeted with joy and jubilation and unconditionally entered the chronicle of the Ossetian people, who will always value friendship with the people of Syria, remember and appreciate the support provided to the young state.

In honor of this significant event in Tskhinval, in the park of culture and recreation named after Valeriy Khubulov, 60 seedlings of coniferous trees were planted as a symbol of friendship between South Ossetia and Syria.

Officials of the Republic, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Dmitrii Medoev, a delegation of the Parliamentary Center “Integrated Security of the Motherland” and the Russian Club of Holders of State Awards of the Republic of South Ossetia, headed by the national actor of Russia and South Ossetia A.V. Pankratov-Cherny, students of Tskhinval school № 6 took part in the action of planting the South Ossetian-Syrian Friendship Lane.
