The official visit of Anatolii Biblov, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, to the Republic of Srpska has started.
On January 8, 2018 the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Anatolii Biblov arrived in Belgrade.
Mladjen Cicovic, Representative of the Republic of Srpska in Serbia, and Dusko Perovic, Representative of the Republic of Srpska in the Russian Federation, welcomed the official delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Belgrade's international airport named after Nikola Tesla.
Later the South Ossetian delegation visited the Saint George’s Cathedral of the Eparchy of Bačka of the Serbian Orthodox Church, located in the city of Novi Sad in the autonomous province of Vojvodina, and the Kovilj Monastery, dedicated to Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel.
A meeting of Anatolii Biblov, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, and Bishop Irinej of Backa took place.
The President congratulated the Bishop with the bright holiday of the Nativity of Christ and wished His Grace God’s help in the high service.
During the meeting the problem of protection of common Orthodox values was discussed and the necessity of joint efforts by governments and religious associations aimed at defending morality and neutralizing security threats among religious community was emphasized.
On the same day the official South Ossetian delegation left for Banja Luka, the capital of the Republic of Srpska.
