Andrey Tskhovrebov, the Acting Foreign Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia, hosted a meeting with Juan Ernesto Vásquez Araya, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua in the Republic of South Ossetia, who handed copies of credentials, on July 11.

Range of relevant issues concerning bilateral relations and the perspectives of cooperation between South Ossetia and Nicaragua at international stage were discussed at the meeting in warm and friendly atmosphere.

Andrey Tskhovrebov, the Acting Foreign Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia, lead a discussion with Narim Kozaev, the recently appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Republic of Nicaragua and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, on the occasion of his entrance upon duties on July 7.

Current issues of regional policy and terms of further work on strengthening friendly relations with Nicaragua and Venezuela were discussed at the meeting.

Andrey Tskhovrebov, the Acting Foreign Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia, hosted a meeting with Nalan Antmen, Head of the ICRC mission in South Ossetia, on July 01.

Latest projects implemented and further activities of the Mission for the nearest future on territory of the Republic were discussed in the meeting.

The Head of the Committee expressed gratitude to the Ministry for the support and cooperation with the ICRC.

The parties expressed mutual consent to further interaction in solution of humanitarian problems.

Pertaining to the appointment of an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela

Under the President Decree Narim Kozaev was appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on June 27, 2016.

The UN General Assembly has been accepting draft resolution on refugees and displaced persons from South Ossetia and Abkhazia prepared by Georgian party for several years already. Delivering again and again the same writing of the document Georgia tries to impose on international community a unilateral politicized corrupt vision of the problem of refugees to support their non-legitimate territorial claims.

Pertaining to the results of the 36thround of the Geneva International Discussions

Regular round of the Geneva International Discussions was held on June 14-15, 2016. Official mission from South Ossetia, headed by Murat Dzhioev, the Plenipotentiary of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia on post-conflict settlement, missions from Abkhazia, Georgia, Russia, the USA as well as representatives of the EU, the UN and the OSCE took part in negotiations.

The discussions were held in two working groups: on security and humanitarian issues.

South Ossetia delegates at the Geneva International Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia met the Co-Chairs of the Discussions representing the EU, the OSCE and the UN, who arrived in Tskhinval on May 23 in anticipation of the coming 36th round of the Discussions scheduled for June 14-15.

Issues related to the agenda of the coming round in general and problems that would be subjects of discussion in Geneva in particular were discussed at the meeting.

Every year since 2009 Georgia submits a draft resolution on refugees and displaced persons from Abkhazia and South Ossetia to the UN General Assembly. The text of the resolution that is being imposed on the international community is silent on the fact that the emergence of such refugees and displaced persons is directly linked to Georgia's wars against South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

Noble Partner 2016, the second large-scale NATO military exercises hold in Georgia, opened on May 11, 2016. The declared purpose of the trainings was increasing the level of cooperation and interaction between Georgia and NATO for further participation of Georgian army in joint military campaigns.

The US tanks and infantry fighting vehicles have been transported to Georgia for the first time, while the number of military personnel of the USA and the Great Britain who arrived to Georgia exceeds much more the number of Georgian effectives involved in the trainings.
