Foreign Minister of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev expressed condolences to the family and loved ones of public figure Tamerlan Khodov on his passing.
The text of the condolences, in particular, reads:
"Too soon has the life been cut short of a man whose nobility and dignity always went before him. Living in Moscow, he tirelessly served Ossetia. He did much to preserve the Ossetian language, culture and historical monuments. He brought together Ossetians living in Moscow and inspired them to good deeds. He connected different circles with one another, and to all he was a beloved friend. His wise word was heard both at meetings with compatriots and in the pages of the press. For the sake of preserving the spiritual values of Ossetia, he, together with like-minded people, carried out significant projects and introduced the younger generation to Ossetian customs and art. Noble and generous, discerning and cheerful — such he remained in our hearts.
Tamerlan extended a helping hand to many, and the light of his soul touched many people — and we grieve together with them. When people such as these, by whom a nation is upheld, depart from our midst, it is a great loss for the people. But their name and good memory remain. The good memory that Tamerlan Khodov leaves behind will live in the hearts of those who knew him. We express our condolences to his family, loved ones and relatives. May he rest in peace!"
