On 18–20 September, citizens of the Russian Federation permanently residing in, or present in, the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia on the day of voting cast their ballots in the elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the ninth convocation.
Eleven polling stations were established across South Ossetia. The conduct of the voting was administered by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of South Ossetia.
Following the tallying of all ballots, the largest share of the electorate lent its support to the United Russia party (67.6%), the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (10.6%), the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (5%), the New People party (3.2%) and the Communists of Russia party (2.1%).
The elections in the Republic of South Ossetia were conducted without irregularities, in an orderly atmosphere.
