We state with regret the disregard by the Georgian authorities of objective reality and their unwillingness to respect the democratic choice of the people in South Ossetia.
The recognition or non-recognition by Georgia of the results of the vote does not in any way change the essence and legitimacy of the elections of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, held on 18 September in accordance with national legislation and the norms of international law.
South Ossetia has once again demonstrated its commitment to democratic principles and political maturity. We wish the Republic of South Ossetia and its people peace, and the newly elected President M. Kambolov success.
