The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev sent congratulatory messages to the Co-Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua Denis Ronaldo Moncada Colindres and Valdrack Ludwing Jaentschke Whitaker on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Nicaragua.
The message, in particular, reads:
"On 15 September 1821, the people of Nicaragua determined their path of freedom and independence, based on respect for their rich historical heritage and loyalty to the national idea of unity and the heroic struggle for justice. Today, as more than two centuries ago, this date embodies fidelity to the ideals of peace, sovereignty and good-neighbourliness and serves as an indisputable guideline for new generations of the Nicaraguan people.
The people of South Ossetia, fully aware of the true value of freedom and independence, with deep gratitude keep in their memory the resolute support of the Republic of Nicaragua in the most difficult wartime and its fraternal shoulder and friendly solidarity at all levels of international communication throughout all the subsequent years.
I am firmly convinced that your beautiful country will continue to steadily build on its successes in socio-economic and political life, demonstrating a consistent approach to upholding its national interests in the international stage."
On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Nicaragua, Akhsar Dzhioev also sent a congratulatory message to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua to the Republic of South Ossetia Alba Azucena Torres Mejia.
