On August 27, as part of the visit of the delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia to Sukhum, dedicated to the celebration of the 18th anniversary of Russia’s recognition of Abkhazia’s independence, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, A. M. Dzhioev, and the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, O. M. Bigvava.
During the conversation, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation and emphasized the importance of strengthening allied relations between the two republics. Akhsar Dzhioev and Odysseas Bigvava noted that the historical date of recognition of independence became a crucial stage in the formation of the statehood of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, opening up new opportunities for the development of the sovereign republics under the reliable protection of Russia.
The participants of the meeting confirmed their readiness to further coordinate efforts on international platforms and continue a constructive dialogue in all areas of mutual interest.
