On 18 June, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia A.M. Dzhioev took part in the educational session for veterans of the Special Military Operation "Heritage. Development. Unity," which is being held from 17 to 19 June in Vladikavkaz.
The event is organised by the Association of Veterans of the Special Military Operation and the All-Russian Public Civic-Patriotic Movement "Immortal Regiment of Russia," with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
Within the framework of the educational session, Akhsar Dzhioev spoke at the lecture "Historical and Cultural Parallels between Russia and South Ossetia."
In his address, Akhsar Dzhioev noted that the peoples of South Ossetia and Russia are bound, at the deepest, invisible yet very solid level, by a common cultural code — a shared system of values, a worldview, and a way of perceiving the world that has been shaped over centuries.
Elena Malysheva, Head of the National Centre for Historical Memory under the President of the Russian Federation, and Ruslan Bzarov, Doctor of Historical Sciences and Professor, also spoke as panellists.
A delegation from South Ossetia of about 40 people is taking part in the session.
