Joint Declaration of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of South Ossetia
We, the Heads of the Foreign Ministries of the Republic of Abkhazia, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of South Ossetia, following the Meeting held on 11 June 2026, devoted to assessing the current situation and challenges in the sphere of security and cooperation of our States, as well as to discussing topical issues on the multilateral agenda, hereby declare the following.
1. The Republic of Abkhazia, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of South Ossetia are sovereign States established on the basis of the free expression of the will of their peoples. The right of peoples to determine independently their political status and path of development is enshrined in the fundamental norms of international law, above all in the principle of self-determination, as set forth in the Charter of the United Nations.
2. We reaffirm our firm intention to build up cooperation in the interests of the peoples of the three republics, as well as our commitment to the development of democracy and respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.
3. Striving for the restoration of historical justice and stating that the period of large-scale transformation of the international situation opens up new opportunities for the establishment of a multipolar world order, we take into account that this process is accompanied by global instability and attempts to restrict the sovereign right of our republics to self-determination.
4. We unanimously reject any forms of political, economic, information and humanitarian pressure aimed at infringing upon the rights and freedoms of the citizens of the three republics, at imposing political decisions upon them contrary to the will of their peoples, as well as at isolating the republics from the rest of the world, and we strongly urge the international community to respect the sovereign rights of the peoples of Abkhazia, Pridnestrovie and South Ossetia and to support the recognition of the Republic of Abkhazia, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of South Ossetia as independent States.
5. Attaching importance to the process of international recognition of the independence of Abkhazia, Pridnestrovie and South Ossetia for the final shaping of a sustainable structure of regional stability, we insist on the necessity of settling all disputed issues exclusively by peaceful means, not allowing the application of hostile measures of a military, political and economic nature.
6. We proceed from our commitment to democratic values, a just multipolar world and the advancement of integration processes, especially with the Russian Federation, as well as with the countries of the Global South.
7. We reaffirm our course towards the comprehensive deepening of cooperation with the Russian Federation as a strategic partner, which consistently supports the right of the peoples of the three republics to determine independently their own path of development, and we wholeheartedly welcome the comprehensive support of the Russian Federation in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres amid global instability. We particularly note the stabilising role of Russia as a guarantor of peace and security in Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus.
Following the meeting, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of South Ossetia agreed to maintain regular dialogue and to hold consultations on topical issues of the bilateral and multilateral agenda, including on matters of international security that directly affect the interests of the three States.
