Question: How would you comment on the statement by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Mikhail Galuzin regarding Moscow's support for the full transport and economic unblocking of the entire South Caucasus region, which was made at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) during the session "The '3+3' Platform: Common Challenges and Strategic Partnership"?

Answer: Yes, indeed, certain proposals on this matter were voiced by Mikhail Galuzin. It is important to understand that the subject is not a new one. From time to time it features in the information and political domain. As a matter of fact, it has previously been commented upon by us on numerous occasions.

On the whole, unblocking could be beneficial provided that the interests of all parties are observed, including those of South Ossetia, and taking into account the geopolitical realities that have taken shape in the region since 2008.

As for the "3+3" Platform itself, practice shows that Georgia refrains from official participation in this format.
