On February 17, a meeting of the Acting Foreign Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Bartsits was held in the South Ossetian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Inna Bigulaeva, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Sergey Tadtaev, Head of the Legal Department Konstantin Minasov, Head of the Department for Foreigh Relations Taimuraz Dzhidzhoev participated in the meeting on the South Ossetian side. Deputy Foreign Minister of Abkhazia Odyssey Bigvava, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Elbakiev, Associate to the Minister Dmitrii Amichba, Head of the Department of Strategic Cooperation Jemal Bganba, Head of the Financial Department Vladimir Khashig and officer of the State Protocol Department Said Tarba participated in the meeting on the Abkhaz side.
During the meeting, a high assessment was given to the current state of traditionally friendly South Ossetian-Abkhaz relations, and the mutual commitment to their further development was confirmed. Prospects for expanding bilateral ties and strengthening foreign policy coordination between the two countries were discussed.
During the meeting, Akhsar Dzhioev and Oleg Bartsits signed the Plan of Consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia for 2026-2027.
At the end of the meeting, the Foreign Ministers exchanged memorable gifts.
