The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia A. M. Dzhioev extended a note to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia O. M. Bartsits in connection with the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of the Fatherland.
The note, in particular, reads:
“Thirty-three years ago, the peace-loving Abkhaz nation faced the necessity to engage into the bloody war against the Georgian fascism. During cruel hostilities thousands of innocent residents of Abkhazia were killed, cultural and historical monuments were ruined, infrastructure was destroyed.
Despite the most difficult conditions of humanitarian and information blockade, the heroic people of Apsny showed exceptional courage, fortitude and unity, without a moment’s hesitation having stood up for the protection of their land, freedom and peaceful future of their children.”
