On March 14, 2023, Valery Vasilievich Loshchinin, an outstanding Russian diplomat and statesman, retired Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, died at the age of 82.
The most important stages of the recent history of South Ossetia are connected with the name of Valery Vasilyevich. Holding the position of Secretary of State - First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in 2000, he took an active part in the work on the peaceful settlement of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict, including within the framework of the Joint Control Commission. We will always remember his high professionalism, his kind attitude towards South Ossetia and his support of its interests.
