The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People’s Republic N.Y. Nikonorova sent a congratulatory message to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia D.N. Medoev on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of the recognition of the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by Russian Federation.
The congratulation, in particular, says:
The path of the South Ossetian people to independence and building their own state was long and difficult, filled with tragic events. However, all the ordeals passed by the sons and daughters of South Ossetia with honor and dignity, paid for in blood, confirmed the invariability of their intention to gain freedom and independence, and to be true to the choice made once.
Russia’s support in establishing peace in South Ossetia was invaluable, and its recognition of the South Ossetian Republic as an independent state on August 26, 2008 demonstrated to the whole world that Russia has a powerful voice in the international community and annihilates any possibility of servility for the sake of praise and approval of the West.
All these events have led to the fact that today the Republic of South Ossetia is a country where all branches of government are built, which develops, preserving its traditions and values, its originality and flavor. I am sure that only bright and joyful events await South Ossetia in the future, and trials and external threats will remain a part of history.
Let me wish you and the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia lasting peace, good health, prosperity and the earliest possible achievement of all foreign policy goals of the Republic of South Ossetia.
