On July 19, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia D.N. Medoev, during his working trip to Moscow at the invitation of the Nicaraguan side, took part in a gala reception on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the victory of the Sandinista revolution, which was held at the Embassy of Nivaragua in the Russian Federation.
The reception was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua Denis Moncada Colindres, who is in Moscow on an official visit.
Representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Russia, Russian public figures, representatives of the creative intelligentsia were invited to the event.
The Special Representative of the President of Nicaragua for Cooperation with Russia Laureano Ortega Murillo addressed the audience with a welcoming speech, then the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nicaragua Denis Moncada Colindres greeted the guests.
D.N. Medoev in his speech congratulated the audience and the entire people of Nicaragua on this momentous event and conveyed greetings and wishes to the President of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega from the President of South Ossetia Anatolii Bibilov. Dmitrii Medoev noted that the victory of the Sandinista People’s revolution is a demonstration of of the Nicaraguan people’s commitment to the ideals of freedom, independence and social justice, and wished him peace and prosperity.
The event was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation Z.N. Gsssiev, Trade Representative of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation T.Z. Goginov, as well as employees of the South Ossetian Embassy in Russia, who deployed a national tent at the reception with a presentation of national Ossetian cuisine and products of South Ossetian enterprises.
