A meeting of Dmitrii Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, and Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, as well as bilateral South Ossetian-Russian consultations took place in the Reception House of the Russian Foreign Ministry at Spiridonovka Street on November 12.
Exchange of opinion on key points of the bilateral relations, on strengthening international positions of South Ossetia and on extension of the foreign policy interaction in framework of the Geneva International Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia took place during the meeting.
Dmitrii Medoev marked Sergey Lavrov’s great personal contribution to the establishment and progressive development of friendly South Ossetia-Russian relations as well as to recognition and strengthening of international positions of South Ossetia and expressed gratitude for the in-depth political and practical assistance extended by the Russian Federation.
On the occasion of the 10th Anniversary of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation Dmitrii Medoev honored Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Grigoriy Karasin, State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Alexey Pavlovsky, the Director of Fourth CIS Department of the MFA of the Russian Federation, with ministerial medals “For Contribution to International Cooperation”.
Visit of the South Ossetian Foreign Minister to Moscow, negotiations with the Russian Foreign Minister would give an additional impetus to development and strengthening of interaction between the two Foreign Ministers.
Znaur Gassiev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation, and Akhsar Dzhioev, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation, are on the visit with Dmitrii Medoev.
