Upon an invitation from Sadrettin Kusati, Head of the Ossetian community in Turkey, Dmitrii Medoev, the South Ossetian Foreign Minister, visited Istanbul and participated on August 4, 2018 in the second international festival of the Ossetian culture, which was organized with the assistance of Alan, Ossetian diaspora in Turkey.
Aslan Tsutsiev, the Minister for National Relations of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Ruslan Mildzikhov, the Minister for Culture of Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, representatives of North Caucasus diasporas in Turkey and the diplomatic corps accredited in Turkey participated in the event as well.
Exhibitions of famous artists, tasting of Ossetian dishes and a competition between Ossetian beer makers were organized in framework of the festival.
At the end of the festival there was organized a gala concert with participation of Alan, the State Academic Ensemble of North Ossetia-Alania, and Stay, the dance troupe of Alan, the Ossetian diaspora in Turkey.
The festival aimed at further strengthening and development of friendly and cultural ties with the compatriots, residing in Turkey, promotion of the Ossetia folk art and preservation of ethnocultural identity of the Ossetian nation and language.
