Upon an invitation from Count Peter Sheremetev, a famous cultural worker, philanthropist and public figure, Dmitriy Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, visited Sergei Rachmaninoff Russian Conservatory of Paris on December 8, 2017 in framework of his visit to France.
Count Peter Sheremetev is chairman of the Russian Musical Society in Paris, director of the Russian Conservatory of Paris and chairman of the Presidium of the International Council of Russian Compatriots.
During the meeting, which was held in a friendly atmosphere, the Minister took a brief journey into the history of South Ossetia and shared features of traditional culture of the Ossetians. In his turn Count Sheremetev told about the history of the Russian Conservatory, its traditions and current activities.
The parties touched upon the issue of Russian compatriots living in South Ossetia.
Laura Arys-Djanaeva, the President of Ossetian Association in France “Alania”, also participated in the meeting.
