The Transdniestria Moldavian Republic Minister for Foreign Affairs Vladimir Yastrebchak sent a greeting telegram to South Ossetia Minister for Foreign Affairs Murat Jioev on the occasion of the national holiday in the Republic of South Ossetia– the Day of the Republic.
The telegram says in particular:
“I send the warmest greetings on the occasion of the main national holiday- the Day of the Republic.
The historical decision which was made twenty years ago by the Soviet of People`s Deputies of South Ossetia opened a new page in the life of its people. The foundation of the new state was the answer to a chauvinistic policy of the Georgian government which dividing people on the national bases was trying to bereave the Ossetian population of its inalienable rights, to eliminate Ossetian culture and identity. The Declaration of the National Sovereignty of South Ossetia was a logical which became the foundation for peaceful and safe development of the country.
The people of South Ossetia had to uphold its independent choice in terms of constant blockades, terror and provocations organized by the Georgian government. Defending the ideas, announced twenty years ago, the Ossetian people has experienced war aggressions aimed on the physical extermination of the South Ossetia population. Courage and solidarity of the people, belief in the Republic and in itself, support of the Russian government as well helped people to withstand and win. Past years proved clearly – the independence was the only right choice which let the people of South Ossetia reserves its right to life, dignity and freedom.
Today in the close contact with Russia the Republic rehabilitates the infrastructure destroyed by the Georgian aggressors, develops the social sphere, and establishes the bases for the economic jerk. Competent operations of the diplomatic body of the country under Your experienced guidance widen the range of allied members and friends of South Ossetia, strengthen its positions on the international scene.
I believe that the relations of close friendship and constructive interaction settled during the years of joint work between the departments of foreign-policy of South Ossetia and Transdniestria will solve effectively the tasks assigned by the peoples of our brotherly republics. Our mutual understanding and support, common ideas and values, the desire for the development of close relations with Russia –all these is a guarantee for success of our mutual efforts.
On this red-letter, bright for South Ossetia day allow me to pass You , dear Murat Kuzmich, the wishes of peace, good and well-being; new success in the strengthening of the international grounds of the country, and also to express the hope of the further progressive development of our collaboration”.
