Istanbul hosted an international festival “Culture Days of Ossetia in Turkey” organized by Culture Ministries of Russia and the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, supported by “Alan”, the Ossetian community in Turkey that have celebrated the 25th anniversary this year.
A delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia represented by David Sanakoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the RSO, and Kosta Pukhaev, the First Deputy Head of the RSO President Administration, as well as a delegation of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania headed by Lyudmila Tokaeva, the Vice-chairman of the RNO-Alania Parliament, and Fatima Khabalova, the Minister of Culture of the RNO-Alania, participated in the festivities.
The solemn meeting attendees gave warm welcome to the greeting message from President Tibilov delivered by Kosta Pukhaev. Such leading ensembles, Ossetian opera stars and pop celebrities as “Alan”, the State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble Under the Direction of an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Elbrus Kubalov, Amagi Gotti , an honored opera singer of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, took place. A famous designer Izolda Gogichaeva presented a new collection of traditional costumes of Caucasian nations. An exhibition on traditional arts and crafts was organized as well.
South Ossetia delegation met representatives of Ossetian community who arrived from different Turkish cities. Issues of further development of friendly and cultural ties with compatriots living in Turkey, guest performances arrangement and participation of South Ossetia on-stage performing groups in various cultural events in Turkey and vice versa as well as the possibilities of holding various roundtables and conferences were discussed.
