The Answer of RSO Minister of Foreign Affairs to IA «Res» Question Pertaining to US State Secretary Statement

Question: Please comment the statement of US State secretary Hillary Clinton that “Washington will go on try for de-occupation of Georgian territories”.

Answer: The statement US State secretary Hillary Clinton made yesterday in Georgia runs that US intend to strengthen its influence in Georgia. The statement of Hillary Clinton does not favour the settlement of the relationships between South Ossetia and Georgia. On the contrary, they inspire the authorities of Georgia to new “heroic deeds”, in other words, to new aggressive actions and statements against South Ossetia and Abkhazia. This speaks again that Georgia remains to be ground for American pressing on Russia, inspite of reloading policy.

If the USA and the other western countries are interested in stable peace on The Southern Caucasus they should cease to provide Georgia with offensive weapons and inspire to new aggressive actions against their neighbors, but negotiate and sign Non-use of Force document in the process of relations settlement.

It must be clear for everyone that South Ossetia is building good neighbour relationships on the bilateral contractual basis.

The presence of Russian military forces and border guards fully corresponds to bilateral agreements between South Ossetia and Russia and international law.

In its turn South Ossetia is ready to peaceful dialogue with Georgia on the settlement of mutual relationships, and obligatory condition for us is the guaranty of non-use of force.

I hope that cochairmen of Geneva Discussions where the issue of preparation of the document is discussed will show great activity in order to assist in the preparation if this document. We are expecting their visit in near future and hope for new constructive proposals.
