On August 25, a delegation from the Republic of South Ossetia, headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs A.M. Dzhioev, arrived in the Republic of Abkhazia, where it will take part in the celebration of the 18th anniversary of the recognition of the independence of the Republic of Abkhazia by the Russian Federation.
The delegation includes Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs S.Yu. Tadtaev and Head of the Department for Work with Foreign Institutions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs A.G. Sanakoev.
The delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia was met at the state border of the Republic of Abkhazia by Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Abkhazia for Youth and Sports Tarash Khagba, and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Republic of Abkhazia, Astamur Katsia.
In the city of Gagra, the delegation laid flowers at the Memorial Complex to the Fallen Defenders of South Ossetia – to the heroic volunteers from South Ossetia who fell for the freedom and independence of Abkhazia.
