The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia has sent a congratulatory message to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus on the occasion of Independence Day.
The message reads, in part:
"On 3 July 1944, Minsk was liberated from Nazi occupation during Operation Bagration, in which natives of South Ossetia took an active part. Since then, this day has become a symbol of the independence, resilience and unity of spirit of the Belarusian people, a reminder of the true heroism and devotion of its defenders."
