Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev sent a note to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Yván Gil conveying words of support and sympathy in connection with the tragic aftermath of the earthquake, which claimed human lives and entailed large-scale destruction.
The note reads:
"South Ossetia wholly shares the pain of the fraternal Venezuelan people in this difficult hour. Please accept words of condolence for the families and loved ones of the deceased, as well as wishes for the swift recovery of those injured as a result of this terrible tragedy."
