Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia A.M. Dzhioev sent a note to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic V.V. Ignatiev conveying words of sympathy and support in connection with the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Bender Tragedy.
The note, in particular, reads:
"Thirty-four years have passed since the terrible events of June 1992, which will forever remain an unhealing, bleeding wound in the hearts of the people of Pridnestrovie. The Bender tragedy mercilessly cut short hundreds of lives, maimed thousands of destinies and turned a peaceful city into ruins."
