The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia extended a note with words of sympathy and solidarity to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of the victims of the Lata Tragedy.
The note, in particular, reads:
“While referring to the terrible events of December 14, 1992, we once again recall one of the bloodiest pages of the war – intentional extermination of civilians. That act was not only a war crime and the most gross violation of every single norm of international humanitarian legislation, but the most evident application of the policy of genocide against the Abkhaz nation.”
