Information by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in connection with the military escalation between Israel and Iran

In recent days, the dynamics of the situation in the Middle East has been characterized by an unprecedented escalation caused by Israel’s attack on Iran’s military facilities and civilian infrastructure, including nuclear energy infrastructure facilities, which threatens serious consequences for regional and global security.

Adhering to the principle of resolving disputed issues exclusively by peaceful means, we proceed from the need to comply with the principles of international law and the provisions of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

In the light of the ongoing events, the Ministry recommends the South Ossetian citizens refrain from traveling to these countries, and those citizens staying in Israel and Iran follow the instructions of Russian diplomatic missions, representing, in accordance with the bilateral agreements, the interests of the South Ossetian side in third countries.
