On September 25, with the participation of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in Italy, spruce seeds brought from Beslan by the Italian delegation that had performed concerts in Beslan and Vladikavkaz on the anniversary of the 2004 terrorist attack, were planted in Novafeltria city, Rimini province.
The action took place within the ecological festival, which develops the project "Gardens of Peace". The Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in Italy, Mauro Murgia, noted that the first tree in this garden was Japanese persimmon, which traced its roots from plants that had survived the bombing of Nagasaki, and stressed that the trees are mute witnesses to the terrible tragedies of the past and provide an opportunity to reflect on peace and how to get it.
The spruce seeds were handed over by representatives of the Association of Victims of Terrorist Acts "Mothers of Beslan" to Monica Moroni, a flute player from San Marino, who as a member of the Italian delegation had participated in the commemorative events dedicated to the 18th anniversary of the terrorist attack in Beslan.
