Working visit of D. N. Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, to the Republic of Abkhazia started on March 10.
Today, Inal Ardzinba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, hosted a working meeting with Dmitrii Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia.
Heads of foreign departments discussed the current state and the perspectives of further development of the traditionally friendly South Ossetian-Abkhaz relations, including maintaining an active trust-based political dialogue, increasing the effectiveness of mutually beneficial cooperation across all areas of mutual interest, and noted the similarity of approaches of South Ossetia and Abkhazia to the main issues of the international agenda.
The parties highly appreciated the dynamics of the bilateral interstate relations, emphasised the importance of the ongoing work to coordinate efforts in the interests of strengthening regional stability and security in the light of current events in Ukraine and expressed support for the actions of the Russian Federation to conduct a special military operation aimed at protecting civilians in Donbass.
A joint communiqué was adopted following the results of the meeting.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Ossetia to Abkhazia O.I. Botsiev, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia S.Y. Tadtaev, Secretary of the Abkhaz Security Council S. M. Shamba and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia I.V. Tuzhba also participated in the meeting.

Joint Communiqué on the results of negotiations between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia
Negotiations on current issues of interstate cooperation were held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia D.N. Medoev and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia I.B. Ardzinba on March 10, 2022, in Sukhum.
The South Ossetian and the Abkhaz parties confirmed commitment to strengthen interaction between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Abkhazia in areas of mutual interest for the benefit of both nations.
The South Ossetian and the Abkhaz parties reaffirmed their commitment to achieving broad international recognition.
The Ministers call on Georgia to recognize the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Abkhazia.
The South Ossetian and the Abkhaz parties declared their firm intention to achieve the signing of a legally binding agreement on international guarantees of non-use of force by Georgia between Georgia and the Republic of South Ossetia, as well as between Georgia and the Republic of Abkhazia.
The parties expressed support for the actions of the Russian Federation to conduct a special military operation aimed at protecting the citizens of Donbass.
The parties support the recognition of the sovereignty and independence of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic.
The Ministers expressed their commitment to establishing a multipolar system of international relations and granting the right to express the positions of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Abkhazia at the United Nations.
