On February 24, an enlarged format meeting of the Security Council of the Republic of South Ossetia, organized in connection with the situation in the Donbas and the special military operation announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin, was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia A.I. Bibilov.
The President said that South Ossetia fully supports the decisions made by the leadership of the Russian Federation to protect the people of Donbass, who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.
Taking into consideration the permanent tensions created at the border of the Republic of South Ossetia by Georgia, which has repeatedly declared full support for the Kiev regime and has regularly been participating in military exercises under the auspices of NATO, and most importantly – in order to ensure the security of the Republic of South Ossetia and its citizens, an operational headquarters has been organized under the leadership of the President of the South Ossetia A.I. Bibilov.
By the decision of the Security Council, relevant instructions were given to a number of Ministries and departments of South Ossetia, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The units of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been transferred to a special duty regime.
