On October 22, the International Conference “South Ossetia at the Crossroads of Civilizations. Problems of Security and Sustainable Development”, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in conjunction with the Russian National Committee for Black Sea Economic Cooperation (RNC BSEC), began its work in Tskhinval.
As part of the cultural program, the event participants visited the South Ossetian State University named after A.A. Tibilov, where a meeting with the rector Vadim Tedeev took place, visited the museum complex of the University and took a view of the exhibits of archeology and ethnography.
A sightseeing tour was also held for the guests in the National Museum of South Ossetia, in a city of Tskhival, as well as in the wine production enterprise “Ironsan Winery”.
On October 23, the opening of the plenary sessions of the International Conference took place.
Opening the Conference, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia D. N. Medoev greeted the guests and emphasized the importance and relevance of an objective discussion of development of economic opportunities and infrastructure in South Ossetia, the importance of coordination and increasing efforts to introduce advanced technologies, modern industrial and social innovations into the country’s economy.
Within the framework of the plenary session of the Conference, the participants discussed the development of the economic infrastructure of South Ossetia for 2021-2030 of a new economic platform, sustainable development of the region, as well as new technologies for public-private partnership in the field of production and trade, ways of introducing new technologies and organizing production capacities in the field of national economy of South Ossetia.
Within the framework of the working program, there will be two Round Tables: “Tourism, Culture and Sports in South Ossetia – Opportunities and Prospects. Preservation and Development of Ethnocultural Diversity of the Peoples of the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia” and “Meeting of Business Representatives”.
The conference is attended by representatives of the RNC BSEC from different countries, scientists, pedagogical workers, interested specialists, representatives of executive authorities.
At the end of the conference, the delegates will adopt a final resolution.
