Commemorative events dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the military aggression of Georgia against South Ossetia were held in the Republic of South Ossetia on August 7-8.
Similar actions were organized in the embassies of the Republic of South Ossetia in Moscow, Sukhum and Tiraspol.
A lite in honor of the victims of the Georgian aggression was served in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and was attended by officers of the Embassy of the Republic of South Ossetia, officers of Permanent Representation of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania to the President of the Russian Federation in Moscow, representatives of diplomatic missions, members of the Ossetian community in Moscow and congregants.
Representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Federation Council, diplomatic missions, public organizations and the Ossetian community came to the Embassy of South Ossetia in Russia to pay flower tribute to victims of the war.
Raul Khadzhimba, the President of Abkhazia, heading a delegation of the authorities of the Republic, Yurii Yasnosokirskii, Minister-counsellor of the Russian Embassy in Abkhazia, Harry Cupalba, Pridnestrovian Ambassador to Abkhazia, came to the Embassy of South Ossetia to pay tribute to victims of the war.
An action “the Candle of Memory” was held at the premises of the Official Representation of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Pridnestovian Moldavian Republic. Vitaly Ignatiev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, and officers of the foreign policy agency lit candles and laid flowers at the office of the Representation in commemoration of victims of the Georgian aggression against South Ossetia.
Ministers and government executives as well as the people of Tiraspol attended the action as well.
