Passions related to the death of a Georgian citizen Archil Tatunashvili, who died in the State hospital in Tskhinval, are being inflamed in Georgia. On February 22, 2018 Archil Tatunashvili was detained by law enforcement agencies of South Ossetia in Leningor on suspicion of reconnaissance and sabotage activities and involvement in murders of civilians during military aggression of Georgia against South Ossetia in August 2008.

February 21, 2018 saw Dmitrii Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, hosting a meeting with a group of mountain skiers from Catalonia and Andorra, members of Himalaiaski Club, who had made several high-altitude climbs in South Ossetia.

The Minister welcomed the guests, congratulated them with successful implementation of plans and invited the mountaineers and their friends to visit South Ossetia in summer. Alongside with this the Minister expressed hope that the number of tourists coming to South Ossetia would increase.

February 10, 2018 saw a meeting of Dmitrii Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, with Yason Demeev, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Far Eastern Federal District of the Russian Federation, organized in Vladivostok.

The Representative of South Ossetia informed the Minister about the activity, conducted in the Far East. In his turn the Minister set the priority tasks, which would promote more effective cooperation of South Ossetia with Vladivostok and the Far East Federal District in general.

On his way home after the official visit to the Republic of Nauru, Dmitrii Medoev, the South Ossetian Foreign Minister, made a short stop in Seoul, the Republic of Korea.

In Seoul the Minister met with representatives of the business community, in particular with Mr. Moon, the President of the South Korean company “Juan”. In 2012 the Protocol of Intentions regarding cooperation in development of communications in the territory of South Ossetia, was signed with this company.

In framework of the official visit to Nauru a trilateral meeting between representatives of three friendly states – the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Dmitrii Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Daur Kove and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Nauru Grigorii Loginov has been organized on February 1, 2018.

In framework of the official visit of Dmitrii Medoev to Nauru a range of meetings between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia and representatives of international delegations were held.

January 31, 2017 saw a meeting of the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Dmitrii Medoev with His Excellency Peter M. Christian, the President of the Federated States of Micronesia.

January 31, 2017 saw Dmitrii Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, participating in the solemnities, dedicated to the 50th Independence Day of the Republic of Nauru.

Official events started with the ceremony of raising the National Flag, accompanied by the National Anthem of the Republic of Nauru, performed by the church choir at the square in front of the Government House.

A study visit of Dmitrii Medoev, the South Ossetian Foreign Minister, with a group of guests of the Republic of Nauru to the central part of Nauru Island, where phosphates - the strategic natural resources are exploited, was organized on January 30, 2017.

Peter Christian, the President of the Federated States of Micronesia, and Grigorii Loginov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Nauru, took part in the visit as well.
