- Tell us about achievements of the MFA in 2013?
- During the summit on Eastern partnership in Vilnius, Georgia initialed agreement on association with the EU, final signing is planned for next year but they already announced plans on economic involvement of South Ossetia and Abkhazia into joint projects between European Union and Georgia.
- What are the current priorities of the MFA’ work ?
- The main priority in our foreign-policy activities is insuring a well-deserved place for Republic of South Ossetia in the world. However, success in foreign-policy work is closely connected with dynamic development of the state itself, therefore we should make everything possible to improve the image Republic of South Ossetia and make it as attractive as possible for building up wider relations with other countries of the International Community.
On 17 September 2013 is marked the fifth anniversary of since signing of the Agreement on friendship, cooperation and bilateral support between Russian Federation and Republic of South Ossetia. The significance of this date was commented by the Minster of Foreign Affairs of RSO David Sanakoev to State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company “IR”.
On 9 September is five years since establishment of diplomatic relations between republic of South Ossetia and Russian Federation. The importance of this date was commented to STRC ‘IR’ by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of RSO Kazbulat Tskhovrebov.
On the fifth anniversary since recognition of the independence of South Ossetia by Russian Federation
- 26 August is the fifth anniversary since recognition by Russia sovereignty of South Ossetia. In that sense 2013 is a special year for South Ossetia. What meaning has this strong-willed decision of Russia for people of South Ossetia?
-On 8 August South Ossetia will commemorate the fifth anniversary since the Georgian aggression. Looking back at those days, can you say that the war could have been avoided?
- It’s been five years since recognition of the independence of Republic of South Ossetia by Russian Federation. What in your opinion is the main policy of the MFA of RSO in a recognized state?
On possibilities provided to citizens of South Ossetia for studying at diplomatic institutions of higher education
In respect of the speech of M. Saakashvili at winter session of PACE
The speech of the President Saakashvili was at the session of Parliamentary Assembly was of course tendentious and biased to South Ossetia and Russian Federation. We have not heard anything new from the president of Georgia. He had the same rhetorics as before, which is also followed by the Government of Georgia for many years and the culmination of which was the military aggression in August 2008.
