On 2 October, according to the Syrian Ministry of Defence, the Israeli Air Force launched airstrikes against targets in coastal cities in the west part of the Syrian Arab Republic. As a result of the attack, three civilians were killed and another three people were wounded.

On August 6, 2024, the Kiev regime launched a massive terrorist attack against Kursk Region of Russia, with AFU units supported by armored vehicles going on the offensive to take over a part of territory of Sudzhansky district. These criminal actions have claimed human lives, including those of civilian population, and resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure.

On November 6, 2023, on the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia adjusted to the frontier with Georgia, close to the village of Amdzarin of the Leningor region of the Republic of South Ossetia, during the actions undertaken by a border patrol while detaining violators of the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia, an incident happened as a result of which one Georgian citizen was injured and later died, another was detained.

The flag is one of the most important symbols of the state, along with the Coat of Arms and the anthem.
September 17 marks the 15th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation, which became the first comprehensive basic document that largely defined the principles and priorities of the interstate relations between the two countries.
On August 26, South Ossetia celebrates one of the main state holidays – the Day of Recognition of the Independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation.
