On December 12, in framework of the working visit to Moscow, the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev participated in the solemn ceremony of honoring one of the most outstanding representatives of the Ossetian nation, Army General, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Issa A. Pliev. The event was organized in connection with the 120th anniversary of Pliev’s birth and was held in the Hall of Glory of the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, located on Poklonnaya Hill.
The event was organized on the initiative of Zaur Dzhanaev, Chairman of the Azanbek Dzhanaev Cultural Philanthropy Foundation, in framework of the program on promotion of cultural and historical traditions of the Ossetians.
On behalf of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan E. Gagloev, Akhsar Dzhioev welcomed the hosts and participants of the event, noting the great services of Issa Pliev for Motherland.
Members of the Federation Council and deputies of the State Duma, representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation as well as the Ossetian diaspora in Moscow participated in the event.
The courses entitled “Media service in Foreign Ministries”, prepared together with the Department of Information and Press of the Russian MFA, were organized for foreign diplomats for the first time.
