During a telephone conversation with RES IA reporter Dmitrii Medoev, the acting Foreign Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia, made a comment on the statement of Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, who had called the conduction of the referendum in South Ossetia a Russian provocation.
“As for the words about Russia, they are not more than an on-duty working out of the anti-Russian thesis in favor of the overseas sponsors of Georgia...
The passage about non-attacking “the Abkhaz and the Ossetian citizens” of Georgia is the most interesting. It seems to be true. The Ossetians living in Georgia may not be bombarded by Georgian Bayraktars. However, if Ms. Zurabishvili referred to South Ossetia and Abkhazia, then an obvious mistake had been made while choosing the addressee of the statement, since there are no citizens of Georgia in South Ossetia, and this fact is well known.
In this regard one can recall the outstanding statement made by some Georgian politician just before the Saakashvili’s attack on South Ossetia in 2008: “I swear, we are not going to fight”… What can we expect this time after the same statement voiced by Ms. Zurabishvili?
