South Ossetia welcomes the recognition of the sovereignty of the fraternal republics of Donbass. This is an important and responsible decision of the Russian leadership.
We all listened attentively to the speech of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin immediately before the signing of the decrees, and also watched the broadcast of the meeting of the Security Council of the Russian federation. In their speeches, the leaders of the Federal Assembly, ministers and other responsible persons confirmed that there is no other choice and recommended that the President make a decision and immediately recognize the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
The policy of the western countries, the external rulers of Ukraine, aggressively escalating the situation and arming the Kiev regime, led to an incredible heat, creating a real threat to peace on the European continent. The interests of the state and the safety of citizens are most important.
I congratulate the peoples of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics on gaining independence. We will continue to develop interstate relations with the fraternal republics of Donbass.
